REGEN PRP FACIAL REJUVENATION

The latest in anti-ageing facial rejuvenation with your own cells using platelet-rich plasma (PRP)

This is regeneration with your own cells and more specifically, autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP). This is also referred to as autologous cellular regeneration (ACR) an aesthetic practice, which is a safe and tolerable procedure.

PRP Facial Rejuvenation is the production and injection of autologous
platelet rich plasma. It is well known that platelets have many functions.

Platelets contain important growth factors that, when secreted, are responsible for:

  • Tissue regeneration and rejuvenation
  • Increasing collagen production
  • Recruiting other cells to the site of injury
  • Initiating vascular in-growth
  • Inducing cell differentiation
  • Bone-mineralization
  • Extra cellular matrix formation

They also play a vital role in collagen regeneration and wound healing through being;

  • Non – Allergenic
  • A ‘body own’ physiological product vs. animal derived or human donor products.
  • Responsible for elimination of donor transmissible infections
  • Biological Glue: for tissue adhesion especially in skin flaps, bone grafts and trauma.

What is the process of PRP Facial Rejuvenation?
  • Dr. Joseph will assess the degree of skin aging, perform a skin analysis, and recommend a sensible treatment with reasonable outcome.
  • The options of facial rejuvenation are explained to you, including efficacy and safety. Cost analysis is discussed as are the number of sessions possibly required for your skin type.
  • Persons between the ages of 30 and 80 years are eligible.
  • All skin tones show that the process is safe and effective because your own enriched plasma is used, but not all grades of wrinkling can be improved
  • A photograph of the skin is taken to assist the follow-up and grading of the improvement.
  • Prior to treatment a blood sample of 10 – 20 mls is extracted. This blood is immediately placed in the centrifuge for 8 minutes. When centrifugation is complete your plasma will be separated from your red blood cells. The rich platelets are extracted and injected into the skin. Platelets gradually increase collagen, which can increase skin thickness and overall health of the skin.
  • By an injection technique, the PRP is injected into deep dermis or fat layer of the skin under topical local anaesthesia.
  • Platelets gradually increase collagen, which can increase skin thickness and overall health of the skin.

How long is the procedure from start to finish?

PRP Facial Rejuvenation takes approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour and is done at the All Saints Cosmedical Clinic.

Which facial and body areas can be treated?

  • Crinkling skin around the eyes
  • Cheeks and mid face
  • Cheeks
  • Thinning skin on the neck
  • Jaw Line
  • Back of hands and arms
  • Chest and Décolletage
Are there any side effects? Expect minimal swelling, bruising and redness for the first12-24 hours. A bruise at the venipuncture site may be visible for 2-3 days.

What results should I expect from the treatment?
Results are visible at 3 weeks and improve gradually over ensuing months with improvement in texture and tone.

Almost all skin tones show that the process is safe and effective because your own enriched plasma is used, but not all grades of wrinkling can be improved.

How many treatments do I need and how long do results last for?

This depends upon the health and age of your skin. PRP facial rejuvenation can be a one off treatment, however we normally advise 2-3 treatments, four weeks apart.

Treatment results vary however in most patients the results last up to 18 months. Touch up treatments will maintain the results as well.
