Unlike the skin that covers the rest of our body, our lips are made of the same tissue (mucous membrane) that lines the inside of our mouths. | What is Lip Enhancement and how is it performed? |
Lip Enhancement is a relatively simple and non-surgical procedure that takes around 30 minutes and only requires a local anaesthetic. The lip area is injected with dermal filler in order to provide the plumpness, which is sought. The procedure can be used to tackle a whole host of different imperfections such as:
Lip volume in either the bottom lip, top lip or both
Wrinkles around the lips (smoker’s or lipstick lines)
Down turned corners of the mouth
Re-asserting of the cupids bow (the V-Shaped dip on the top lip of the mouth)

Could I be a candidate for Lip Enhancement?

This is a treatment ideal for anyone who has lost plumpness in their lips through ageing or for those men and women, however young or old, who feel that they need to enhance the natural size and shape of their lips.

| How long does it last, and will I suffer any side effects? |
Although the results vary from one person to another, the results of a Lip Enhancement treatment with dermal fillers can last for up to nine months. There will be some swelling immediately after the procedure, but this swelling should quickly subside and then the results will be visible immediately.
There are very few possible side effects but some light bruising might well occur. Dermal fillers are gradually broken down and absorbed by the body, so eventually your lips will return to their previous appearance without top-up treatments.

Yes, if you love your new lips and want to make the result more permanent, there is a option available that will last up to ten years.
